Naturalistic Simulations for Film

Before switching paths to become a scientist, I worked in the visual effects industry, creating simulations of naturalistic phenomena including oceans, fire, explosions, and falling rocks for Disney’s live action remake of The Lion King or Netflix’s Altered Carbon.

I was highly honoured when the 2019 Visual Effects Society Awards gave the work of my colleagues and me on the “The Lion King” (2019) the accolade of “Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature” and the Golden Schmoes Awards gave us “Most Overrated Movie of the Year”.
