Neuroscientific Advising for Dreamachine
Over 10,000 people drew their experiences after attending the Dreamachine
The Dreamachine was an interactive art-science exhibition where over 40,000 people experienced stroboscopic light–induced visual hallucinations in a curated setting featuring guides, music, and architectural design.
As part of the scientific team, I developed tools that enabled participants to report on their hallucinations, generating one of the largest datasets to date on visual hallucination content.
I also facilitated collaboration between the project’s scientists and artists, and I am now analyzing the resulting data in collaboration with colleagues at the Sussex Centre for Consciousness Science.
Findings from this research were presented by myself and my colleagues at the Sussex Symposium on Stroboscopic Light and at the 2025 annual meeting of the Association for the Scientific Study of Consciousness (ASSC).
